Music Composition and Performance

Music has been a big part of my life since I was 4. My specialty is classical percussion performance, but I've also trained in other instruments and genres.

As a member and officer of UC Berkeley's Undergraduate Composers Club, I composed and performed several original compositions.

An instrumental pop trio with yours truly on percussion

I formed an instrumental pop trio with pianist Donald Chen and violinist Michael Hwang while we were undergraduates at UC Berkeley. We recorded YouTube videos and played live shows at Sliver Pizzeria. I improvised and performed with a variety of percussion instruments, including cajon (the wooden box that sounds like a drum set), tambourine, egg shaker, djembe, woodblock, and glockenspiel.

We’ve performed at Sliver Pizzeria in Berkeley, Lyft’s San Francisco headquarters, and Donald’s own wedding.
